12 Days of Cyrus: A Dozen Roses and a Six-Pack

This is a chronicle of my baby boy's first year of life. One post for every month. And this is the last one! You can get the rest of the story by starting here with yesterday's post.

Happy birthday little Man!

This day came too fast for my baby-loving mama heart. Birthdays are such a bittersweet (but obviously more sweet than anything) time. Celebration, excitement, cake... but time marches on and my little man grows steadily into a big man. We are surprised everyday by how deeply he loves, his cautious optimism, and fearlessness. But you came here to see the little man, so let's move forward shall we?
As I was packing up the house for a move, Cy's favorite activity became emptying boxes. Awesome to keep him busy, and awesome to slowly eat away at my sanity. Cy celebrated his first Christmas this month!! It would have been so exciting for him if he hadn't also been enduring his first real sickness. He was a sad little boy. But I reminded him that he has quite a few more Christmases to celebrate, so he'll know what it's really like next year. He met cousins and aunts and uncles and we were so excited to see faces even if Cy had to keep his droplet-precaution distance. But all of this just showed us again how laid back he is, as we carted him to Houston, across the city, and back all while feverish. We love this little boy so!

One whole year of chillin' with this dude makes us look forward to the many more to come!
